An exhibition on filmmaker Stanley Kubrick has become the most popular ever at the Barcelona Center for Contemporary Culture (CCCB).

Over 145,000 people visited the retrospective, featuring blockbusters such as ‘The Shining’ and ‘2001: a Space Odyssey,’ ‘A Clockwork Orange,’ and more.

600 items on display

The exhibit opened its doors on October 24, put on by Deutsches Filmmuseum with the filmmaker’s own archive in London, also working with Kubrick’s daughter.

It ended on Sunday, March 31, with long lines outside of the Barcelona center, which also offers free entrance on Sunday afternoon.

The exhibit featured the filmmaker’s professional trajectory from 1928-1999, with a room dedicated to each of his twelve celebrated films, with 600 items on display.
