Cirque du Soleil presented its latest show in Barcelona on Tuesday, which is inspired by FC Barcelona's footballing superstar, Leo Messi.

The new show ‘Messi 10’ by the Canadian theater and circus company will premiere in the Catalan capital on October 10, before embarking on a world tour the following month.

Made in conjunction with Argentinian production company, Popart Music, the new show is described as drawing inspiration from Messi's "spirit" and passion for football.

Created by director and choreographer, Mukhtar O.S Mukhtar, 'Messi 10' will debut in Barcelona's Parc del Fòrum and run until November 10.

Talking about the show, Mukhtar said on Tuesday that it connects the world of circus and football and aims to show that "with effort anything is possible."

A new marquee has been made for the show with room for 3,000 people, while outside the tent, the 'Messi Challenge' will provide an interactive experience about the Argentine star.
