Barcelona (ACN).- Chucho Valdés took to the stage this Wednesday at the Palau de la Música Catalana for the Barcelona International Jazz Festival. He performed with the Afro-Cuban Messengers, presenting his new critically acclaimed album ‘Chucho’s Steps’. Valdés played a total of three concerts during the festival. Last week, the pianist participated in the 'Around midnight ressopons i tertúlia' event at the 'Els jardinets de Gràcia' Restaurant. This afternoon, he performed at the festival’s ‘Blindfold & Winefold’ wine-tasting event.

After collaborating on his father’s, Bebo Valdés, albums as well as with the singer Concha Buika, Chucho is releasing a new album. The album accompanied by ‘The Afro-Cuban Messengers’ is entitled ‘Chucho’s Steps’.

Valdés is not the only protagonist in his concerts. He is accompanied by a range of quality musicians, playing double bass, saxophone, trumpet, percussion, drums and piano. His concerts satisfy all musical tastes.

The Palau de la Música Catalana was packed last night with fans waiting to see Chucho Valdés, considered one of the best pianists in the world and one of the most important figures of Cuban jazz.
