The first edition of the 'No Empty Seats' campaign (Cap Butaca Buida) was unveiled on Friday, with 145 participating venues and 60,457 seats available.

The initiative, which aims to fill as many theater seats as possible on March 16, has already achieved remarkable success, with around 15,000 tickets sold

Organized by the Association of Theatre Companies of Catalonia (ADETCA), Time Out, and public broadcaster CCMA, the campaign has exceeded expectations by involving almost 50% of theatres in Catalonia.

However, the organizers want to expand their reach and aim to fill all 148,000 seats in Catalonia's professional theaters in the future.

Inspired by the vibrant festival of books and roses Sant Jordi, held annually on April 23, the organizers want to create a theatrical equivalent of the event.

Ticket purchases are facilitated through each theater's website, with no special discounts, uniform pricing policy, or centralized ticketing platform.

Several venues, including arts centers and community theaters, are planning special performances on March 16, either outside their regular season programming or as rescheduled events.
