Catalan hit song remains in Spotify Barcelona weekly top 100 after over a year
‘Sort de tu’ holds record for longest charting song in Catalan

‘Sort de tu’ (Lucky to Have You) by Osana-based band Oques Grasses continues to be the group’s latest major hit.
The most quiet and introspective track from the reggae-pop band’s latest album, ‘Fruit del deliri,’ quickly found its spot in Spotify Barcelona’s weekly top 100 when the record was released in April 2024.
15 months later, ‘Sort de tu’ is the only song from the album still on the rankings, having now spent a consecutive 64 weeks on the chart — a record for a song in Catalan. The song never climbed to the top positions on the chart, but instead has had a solid trajectory. At its peak last summer, the song reached number 29 on the weekly chart and never fell below 74.
The song currently ranks 60th in weekly streams in Barcelona. The song has garnered 19.28 million sustained streams over 15 months.
Both 'Sort de tu' and the album 'Fruit del deliri' have received several awards, such as Best Catalan song at the recent Spanish Music Academy Awards and Best Pop-Rock Album 2025 at the Enderrock Awards.
Xavier Cervantes, music journalist and head of Culture at Catalan newspaper Ara, believes the song’s huge success is somewhat “surprising.”
It’s a track “you wouldn’t expect to become a smash hit — it’s not especially radio-friendly, nor does it scream triumphant encore,” he told the Catalan News Agency.
Cervantes believes the composition, written by bandleader Josep Montero, has resonated because of the “emotional weight” in the lyrics and melody. The band is “very skilled at emotionally connecting with the public, with just a few well-tied melodic notes.”
Oques Grasses is currently in the middle of their second tour promoting 'Fruit del deliri,' with a run of large-scale concerts titled 'Coda' (named after the closing track on their album). This tour has sparked speculation that it could be their last — though Montero and the group have never confirmed this.
