The Catalan singer Bad Gyal (born Alba Farelo Solé) released her first studio album, titled ‘La Joia’, on Friday.

The album mixes urban music with latin, reggeaton, dancehall, Afrobeat, and house.

Known for her signature use of autotune, Bad Gyal started her career back in 2016 and quickly found success with songs like 'Fiebre’, ‘La Prendo’ and ‘Chulo’, and was recently the opening act on Karol G’s US tour.

In 2021, she released her first EP, titled ‘Wake Up’, and in 2022 she beat out Rosalía when she won the award for Best Spanish Artist at the European MTV Awards.

Bad Gyal has almost 14 million listeners on Spotify.

She has performed at Primavera Sound and Sónar by Night in Barcelona.

On February 9, Bad Gyal will return to Barcelona’s Palau Sant Jordi as part of the '24 Karats tour'.
