Feminist icons and thinkers such as Angela David, Vandana Shiva, Sara Ahmed, Rita Segato, and Marina Garcés will headline the tenth edition of Literal, Barcelona’s book fair of radical ideas and books, which will be held at the Fabra i Coats site in the Sant Andreu district between May 24 and 26.

This year, the central theme of the three-day event will be the need for a feminism that can radically change the world, according to the organizers.

More than 90 independent publishers and bookstores will present their books during the literary festival.

The event will also feature an artistic space with music and poetry, a children’s area with shows and games for the youngest visitors, and a reading area, where readers can borrow books from Barcelona’s libraries.

On the first and second days of the fair, the Literal PRO event will take place for professionals, while on the second and third days, the fair will be open to all book lovers.

For ten years, the festival has been promoting independent literature, and one of its goals is to “bring critical thinking and radical reading to new audiences”.
