Shopping malls and large stores in Catalonia will be allowed to reopen on weekdays at 30% capacity starting on Monday.

They have been closed since January 7, when Catalan authorities passed tougher coronavirus measures following a surge of cases over the Christmas holiday season.

According to media reports, swimming pool capacity limits will be eased from 30 to 50%. Other measures such as the night curfew, county-level mobility restrictions, and reduced opening times for bars and restaurants will remain in place.

The measure will be officially announced on Friday morning by the Civil Protection Committee (Procicat), led by the health and interior ministers.
