Significant turnout drop in Catalan election – preliminary figures

<p>Preliminary figures show that turnout in the Catalan election will drop significantly compared to 2017.</p> <p>By 1pm, 22.78% of voters had already cast their ballot, which means approximately 12 percentage points lower than three years ago, when an all-time high of 80% voters had their say by the time the polls closed at 8pm.</p> <p>By 6pm, the figure had risen to 45.6% of eligible voters who have cast their ballot, representing an even larger drop of 22 percentage points.</p> / ACN
