Innovative foods and 46 Michelin stars total at Gastronomic Forum
<p>Food is always a big deal in Catalonia, whether it is <a href="../../../../../life-style/item/peak-of-calcots-season-kicks-off-with-hope-to-sell-18m">local festivals centered on a humble vegetable</a>, or <a href="../../../../../life-style/item/barcelona-restaurant-disfrutar-named-world-s-5th-best">avant-garde cuisine gaining global recognition</a>.</p>
<p>Taking place this week at Fira Barcelona's Montjuïc venue, this year's Gastronomic Forum Barcelona is focused on the challenge of sustainability, tying in with Barcelona's status as World Sustainable Food Capital 2021.</p>
<p>Aimed at professionals working in the food, restaurant and hospitality sectors, Gastronomic Forum Barcelona brings together more than <strong>300 companies</strong> and 100 speakers, including 60 chefs with a total of <strong>46 Michelin stars</strong> between them.</p>
<p>As well as making sustainability the "central theme of all its activities", the fair features small artisan producers of local and so-called Km0 products.</p> / ACN
