Head of Spain's judiciary blasts decision to pardon jailed independence leaders

The head of Spain's judiciary, Carlos Lesmes, blasts the Spanish government for pardoning the nine independence leaders who were released from prison last June after spending more than three years behind bars: "To justify pardons, they weighed concord against resentment, as if courts’ enforcement of the law was an obstacle to coexistence."
