<p><span>Catalonia saw widespread protests today rejecting the Spanish government’s visit to Barcelona. Some 20 roads, including the main Catalan highway, were cut by pro-independence activists in the early morning. <span>In Barcelona, several rallies surrounded the venue where the Spanish cabinet meeting was being held. Nine people were arrested after trying to jump the police cordon –two more were detained elsewhere in the country. Some fifty people were injured.</span></span></p> / ACN
