Most Covid-19 measures will be lifted two days from now, on Friday. Restaurants and cultural venues are only some of the sectors welcoming the news – and hoping the government doesn't have to backtrack in the future.

Capacity limits on restaurants, cultural events, outdoor sports, universities and trade shows will be lifted from Friday. The cap on indoor sports events will be raised to 80%, which will be 70% at nightclubs – where Covid certificates are required, as is the case of some concerts.

The Spanish government's 2022 budget bill will see 17.2% of its funds allocated to Catalonia. That is, as usual, below its GDP share, 19%, but slightly more than last year. 2.23 billion euro will be spent on Catalonia, up from 1.99 last year.

Last month half as many passengers landed in or departed from Barcelona compared to September 2019. There were three times as many compared to September last year, but they are still far from pre-pandemic levels.

Five alleged jihadists were arrested in Barcelona and Madrid. The police denied that they were ready to perpetrate any attack, but they reportedly had machetes and ammunition.

The 2021 Catalan wine week will take place in person next week! Wine tasting, visits to cellars and other activities across the country are scheduled for wine lovers. In total, 130 events will be held.
