Barcelona has more options for direct flights to Seoul starting September 11, as Korean airline T'way Air launched a new low-cost route connecting the two cities.

Flights will depart from Barcelona at 8:50 pm and land at Seoul Incheon International Airport the following day at 4:10 pm (local time). Planes will leave Korea at 11:05 am (local time) and arrive at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona El Prat Airport at 6:50 pm.

Initially, the airline will offer three direct flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. A fourth flight will be added on Saturdays, starting November 30.

Passengers will travel on an Airbus A330-200 with a capacity of 240 people, including 16 Business Saver seats.

In a press release, the Barcelona Routes Committee emphasized that Asian destinations are a "priority" for Barcelona airport, as part of its 2024-2025 strategic plan. The Seoul-Barcelona route is considered a "key route."

The demand for the Seoul-Barcelona route is "high and growing steadily," driven by Barcelona's appeal in business and institutional relations, as well as the added value Koreans place on the city's art, culture, gastronomy, and climate.

In 2023, over 163,000 people traveled between the two cities, with more than 86,000 additional passengers interested.

T'Way Air was founded in 2010 and offers low-cost domestic and international flights across Korea and Asia. In 2024, the airline started offering European cities such as Barcelona, Roma, Paris, Frankfurt, and Zagreb as their destinations.

Other airlines already offer direct flights between Barcelona and Seoul.
