British fintech sees country as third-largest market, behind UK and France

The British fintech Revolut reached the six-million-customer mark in Spain at the end of 2025. The company now has a market penetration of 13%, surpassing Banc Sabadell and ING.
The bank is now the fourth-largest financial entity by market penetration, just behind ING and Sabadell, according to figures released by the Inmark Group via Revolut.
The company announced on Thursday that Spain is now the third-largest market for the British bank, just behind the United Kingdom and France.
With over six million customers, "Revolut can now operate in Spain at a similar level to national banks and keep investing in its product, its physical presence, and its services," a statement released by the company reads.
"Reaching the six million customers in Spain marks a new era," Ignacio Zunzunegui, South European and South American head of growth at Revolut, said in a written statement.
"The move forward in saving, investment, and Revolut business confirms that we are building something that adds real value," he added.
In 2025, the British bank launched its first-ever physical ATMs, which can be found across Barcelona and many other Spanish cities. The company also became one of the Primavera Sound music festival's main sponsors, and launched a large ad campaign at the Josep Tarradellas Barcelona El Prat airport.
The bank will also expand its Barcelona Tech Hub for Southern Europe with a new office in the city center, at 444 Diagonal Avenue, next to Passeig de Gràcia.
Revolut has a global customer base of 65 million users and employs over 1,500 people in Spain.
