The Horrorland theme park will reopen in a new location on October 15 in Illa Fantasia water park in Vilassar de Dalt, a town 15 minutes by car from Barcelona. This third installment of Horrorland will present six new spectacles with more than twenty characters for each activity.

For the first time, Horrorland will have outdoor activities that will be located in the water park’s mini golf course. Cristina Raya, the director, stated: “We are also really looking forward to using the pools”.

Also, the indoor attractions will be set up in disused spaces in the water park, such as in a former nightclub, a restaurant and an auditorium, meaning a total of 15,000 square meters will be used.

To create this new edition, the investment will be about €1.5m. Laborers are already working on this project in order to open the doors on time in October, when the water park closes, at the end of the summer season.

Yet, the horror park will only last for eleven days, much shorter than previous years when Horrorland was celebrated for eighteen days between October and November.

As for adapting the attractions to Covid protocols, Horrorland will only sell tickets for groups of between two and six people in a bubble.

Currently, the pace of sales is already 60% higher than the last edition, with 40% of the available capacity booked three months before its opening.

First and Second edition

Horrorland is considered the “the first scream park in southern Europe and was initially located in Cercs, in Berguedà county in central Catalonia. Compared to the new site, the space was much smaller, only 4,000 square meters were used.

The theme park opened to great expectations for the first time in October 2018, selling out its initial round of 22,000 entrance tickets.

In 2019, Horrorland opened its second season on October 4 with eight new attractions -double the original number- and two new multipurpose areas equipped with the latest technology.
