Barcelona will welcome the "world's largest seafood trade fair" with organizers projecting a €161 million economic boost for the city.

The 32nd edition of Seafood Expo will take place from April 21 to 23 at Fira Barcelona's Gran Via. Organizers say this year's event will be the biggest in its history, spanning more than 52,950 square meters of exhibition space.

More than 2,300 companies from 86 countries are expected to take part, alongside 254 domestic exhibitors.

The event will draw buyers from across the globe, including retailers, foodservice operators, distributors, and importers.

The program will also feature over 90 industry experts as part of its conference lineup.

Among the new additions this year is an aquaculture innovation zone, a space "dedicated to aquatech solutions, AI innovation and next-generation aquafeed."

After 27 years in Brussels, the event was held in Barcelona for the first time in 2022.
