The Barcelona airport continues to narrow the gap on pre-pandemic passenger figures.

Last month a total of 4.2 million people traveled through El Prat, 7.1% less than the same month in 2019 but 19.3% more than a year ago.

3 million of these passengers were on international flights, while the remaining 1.2 million traveled nationally.

All in all, 26,800 flights took off or landed there, 9.6% less than in 2019 and 23% more year-on-year.

Year-to-date there have been 14.1 million people who have passed through the El Prat facilities outside the Catalan capital, the equivalent of 94.3% of the total who did over the same months in 2019.

There have also been 92,763 flights over the same period, 90.6% as many as in 2019 and 23% more than in 2022.

In terms of cargo, 12,326 tons of goods were transported last month, 88.2% of the total amount seen in April 2019 and 2.4% more than in 2022, while 48,475 tons have been transported since the beginning of the year.
