Catalonia’s 21st century diplomats

Catalonia may not have a large diplomatic network yet, but it has no shortage of diplomats. Some 19 students this year graduated from the fourth edition of the Master’s in Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs, organized by the Public Diplomacy Council of Catalonia (DIPLOCAT). The program is aimed at civil servants wishing to broaden their knowledge of international relations. So far, 71 Catalan public servants have completed the master’s since its first edition in 2013. The Catalan government says it is now working to create a diplomatic corps that can absorb all of these people.
