9-Feb-2024: 'Barça fined €23m for tax evasion over payments to agents'
A court has ordered FC Barcelona to pay nearly €23 million in fines for tax evasion over payments to agents. Spain's National Court rejected Barça's appeal against a ruling from June 2020, which found the club guilty of tax evasion for payments made to footballers' agents between 2012 and 2015. The court's view is that the remuneration paid by the club to agents is subject to tax, as they provide services to the players and not to the club.
