8-Mar-24: 'International Women's Day march draws 40,000 in Barcelona'

Thousands of women have taken to the streets to demand an end to gender violence, job precariousness, and genocide, today on International Women’s Day. Organizers said they wanted to overflow the streets with feminism, and thousands turned out to turn the Catalan capital purple. The goal of this year’s protest is to demand rights and denounce all labor insecurity and violence suffered by women, lesbians, and trans people. Earlier in the day, students kicked off the day of protest.
