6-Mar-24: 'Socialists, Junts, ERC sign deal for amnesty for pro-independence figures'
Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez has agreed to make changes to the amnesty bill to provide additional guarantees for Catalan independence leaders, particularly former president Carles Puigdemont. The Socialists, Esquerra, and Junts have announced a deal for the amnesty, after the pro-independence party rejected the law’s first wording some weeks ago. The bill will be voted on by the Justice Committee tomorrow with the new amendments, and if successful, Congress will vote on the bill again next week.
