27-Mar-24: 'Director of prison where cook was killed resigns after weeks of protests'
The director of the prison where an inmate killed a cook two weeks ago has been dismissed from his post. Following the tragic incident, Paco Romero offered his resignation and today the government accepted after a fortnight of protests from prison workers demanding increased safety and responsibility for the killing. They also demand the sacking or resignation of Justice Minister Gemma Ubasart and prisons official Armand Calderó.
