26-Mar-24: 'Water reservoirs pass the 16% threshold for state of emergency after rain'

It’s been a rainy couple of days in Catalonia, increasing the levels of some of the most important reservoirs. But officials warn that more will be needed to lift the emergency drought restrictions. Reservoirs in the Ter-Llobregat, providing water to the majority of Catalans, passed the 16% threshold for a state of emergency. The climate action minister is hopeful for rainfall forecasts in the coming days, but officials warn that reservoir capacities will have to significantly exceed 16%.
