The European Commission will conduct a careful, independent, and objective analysis of the amnesty law that will benefit Catalan pro-independence figures. European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders announced the plan during a debate on the amnesty law draft in the European Parliament. Pro-independence parties Esquerra and Junts criticized the People's Party for calling on the debate.
