The Catalan government has reduced daily water consumption allowance from 230 to 210 liters per person in Barcelona and neighboring cities. The executive's latest water measure affects the whole Ter-Llobregat system and arrives amid the worse drought on record in Catalonia. Barcelona is now under a pre-emergency drought alert, which allows authorities to impose tougher water conservation measures.
