20-Dec-23: 'Catalan officials and EU fact-finding mission at odds'
A group of MEPs on a fact-finding visit to Catalonia has voiced concerns that school principals they met with were not able to speak out freely. The head of the European Parliament's mission to analyze the Catalan language immersion system criticized the treatment of families wanting 25% of classes in Spanish while Diana Riba of pro-independence Esquerra said the visit was a "right-wing and far-right cabal."
