14-Sep-23: 'America’s Cup preliminary regatta underway'
The America's Cup sailing competition kicked off here today in Vilanova i la Geltrú with the first practice races ahead of a weekend full of regattas. Six teams will fight to win the first preliminary regatta of the 37th America's Cup, ahead of next year's competition proper in Barcelona. Over the weekend, hundreds of people are expected to attend the free event which can be watched from the beach, with the final coming on Sunday.
