14-Nov-23: 'Footballer Dani Alves to face trial in Barcelona for sexual assault'
Footballer Dani Alves is to face trial for the alleged sexual assault of a 23-year-old woman in a Barcelona nightclub last December. The Court of Barcelona announced today it rejected the defenses' bid to quash the case. A date for the hearing will be set once the evidence to be used during the trial is received and approved. Former Brazil and Barça player Alves has been in preventive detention since January.
