12-Mar-24: 'Catalan budget in danger 24 hours before vote'

It looks increasingly likely that the Catalan government will be sent back to square one on the 2024 budget, after a meeting today with left-wing En Comú Podem ended without a deal. After securing an agreement with the Socialists, governing pro-independence Esquerra still need support from another party, but the Comuns draw a red line at the Hard Rock hotel-casino project. Both parties will continue talking, and a last-minute deal before tomorrow’s parliament vote is still possible.
