11-Mar-24: 'Catalan films miss out on Oscars glory'
There was no Oscars joy for Catalonia in Los Angeles last night, with nominees Society of the Snow and Robot Dreams missing out on a coveted Academy Award. Barcelona filmmaker JA Bayona's Society of the Snow lost out to The Zone of Interest in the Best International Feature category and to Poor Things for Best Makeup and Hairstyling. Catalan production Robot Dreams was pipped to the Oscar for Best Animated Feature by The Boy and the Heron.
