11-Jan-24: 'Rent caps to come into force covering 80% of Catalan residents'
A rent cap will come into effect in 140 Catalan towns and cities in February, as announced by Catalonia's territory minister today. In a last-minute shift, Junts facilitated the approval of some of the Spanish government’s anti-inflation measures last night. In return, Catalonia will get devolved powers over immigration, and Junts officials say this means the power to deport migrant repeat offenders.
