07-Mar-24: 'Amnesty bill approved by Justice Committee'
The amnesty law is one step closer to becoming a reality after the bill was approved by the Spanish Congress’s Justice Committee today. Next Thursday, it will be voted on by lawmakers in Spain’s lower house .The new version of the law takes European institutions’ definition of terrorism into account, and Junts estimates that between 150 and 200 more people will benefit from the amnesty because of this new wording. The Socialists and Catalan pro-independence parties hailed the historic agreement.
