01-Mar-24: 'Catalan government still hasn't found support to pass 2024 budget'
The government still needs to find another party to support the budget bill or at least abstain for the spending plan to be approved. One particular project is proving a stumbling block in the negotiations: the Hard Rock casino complex. Catalunya En Comú would be likely partners to pass the budget, but the left-wing party has drawn a red line at the casino complex and wants the project to be thrown out. The government says the 2024 budget doesn’t allocate any money to the Hard Rock project.
