Woody Allen to open Barcelona Jazz Festival September 19
Film director will perform in the Tívoli Theatre with his New Orleans Jazz Band
Woody Allen will open this year's Barcelona Jazz Festival on September 19 with a concert at the Tívoli Theater accompanied by his New Orleans Jazz Band.
An amateur clarinet player and erudite collector of classic jazz, Allen has been playing for years with a band, led until 2022 by Eddy Davis - until his death - and now by Conal Fowkes.
Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday at 11 am through the jazz festivla's official website.
About to turn 88, Allen returns to Barcelona to debut at the festival, while the program also includes names such as Joshua Redman, Bebel Gilberto, Sergio Mendes, Ron Carter, Richard Bona, Michel Camilo, Andrea Motis, Marco Mezquida, Sofiane Pamart and the Sant Andreu Jazz Band.
