The Manchester electro-rock legends join the likes of Depeche Mode, Rosalía, Fred Again.., Kendrick Lamar, and many more on a bumper lineup scheduled to play in Barcelona this summer.
The news of New Order's addition to the Primavera Sound lineup comes on the 40th anniversary of the release of the band's seminal hit Blue Monday.
Following the death of former Joy Division singer Ian Curtis, the band renamed themselves as New Order, and took a slightly different musical direction, integrating their post-punk with electronic sounds.
Primavera Sound returns to Barcelona this summer between June 1-3.
Blur, Four Tet, Avalon Emerson, Built to Spill, Calvin Harris, Channel Tres, Christine & the Queens, FKA Twigs, JPEGMafia, Maggie Rogers, Pet Shop Boys, Pusha T, Skrillex, St Vincent, and The War on Drugs also feature on the stellar lineup.

Primavera a la Ciutat
In addition to the main festival, Primavera Sound also organize a series of concerts on the days before and after the main event, always included in the price of the ticket and some days are even free to everyone, even those without festival tickets.
This year, Pet Shop Boys will be performing as part of the 'Primavera a la Ciutat' lineup, as well as acts such as Confidence Man, Jake Bugg, Cloud Nothings, Arab Strap, Heather, La Paloma, and more.
