Tech boom: over 200 hubs now in Catalonia

Sector provided more than 46,000 qualified jobs in 2025, a 10% year-on-year increase

Catalonia continues to increase the number of technology hubs established in the region, with the amount now exceeding 200 across the territory, according to a study carried out by 'Mobile World Capital Barcelona'.

According to the report, 12 new technology hubs were created in 2025, with an economic impact of more than €54 million

Overall, the economic impact of all the over 200 technology facilities located in Catalonia amounts to over €4 billion

These centers generate more than 46,000 qualified jobs, 10% more than last year, and have a highly international workforce, as 38% of employees are foreign nationals. 

"They are professionals we need to import," Francesc Fajula, CEO of Mobile World Capital Barcelona, said. 

The fourth edition of the Tech Hubs Overview report places Catalonia as an "international innovation hub," with the addition of 12 new technology hubs from multinationals like Germany, China, and the United States, among others. 

70% of the centers established in Catalonia continue to choose Barcelona as their main headquarters, while the remaining 20% are located in its metropolitan area and 10% in different parts across the region.
