Over 10k inscribed at Barcelona's 2026 half-marathon in six hours
Race scheduled for February 15

Over 10,000 people registered to run the 2026 Barcelona Half Marathon in six hours on Tuesday.
Next year's challenge opened registries on Tuesday, ahead of the race on February 15, with the only goal to "surpass 2025's edition, which is already history in the athletics world," a statement reads.
Over 10,000 vouchers were sold in six hours, something "very serious," as organizers wrote online.
During the last race, on February 16, 2025, the Uganda racer Jacob Kiplimo broke a world record, after finishing the race in just 56:42 minutes, 48 seconds below the record of the time.
"I was not expecting to set a new world record, but it was the perfect race," Kiplimo said after winning. "I raced by myself all the time, and it felt great," he added after running without anyone from kilometer 2.

Kenyan athlete Joyciline Jepkosgei also established a women's world record, finishing the race in just 1:04:11 hours, 18 seconds faster than her previous mark from 2024.
Organizers wanted to surpass the 30,000 runners from the 2025 edition in next year's half-marathon. That set a new record, with 40% of female athletes and runners from 95 countries.
Inscriptions are still available at a higher price of €50.
The Barcelona marathon will take place on March 15, a month after the half-marathon.
