FC Barcelona has received the first occupancy licence for part of the renovated Spotify Camp Nou, allowing the club to open the North Goal section and increase the stadium's capacity to 62,652 spectators.

The permit, granted by Barcelona City Council, corresponds to Phase 1C of the stadium redevelopment. The phase includes the activation of new hospitality areas and VIP lounges located between the first and second tiers of the ground.

Among the spaces now authorised are the 'Pitch Club' and 'Main Hub' in the grandstand area, as well as the 'Mini Hub' in the lateral stand.

The opening of these sections marks another step in the gradual return of fans to the partially rebuilt stadium.

New supporters' section

The phase also includes the activation of a new supporters' area in the South Goal known as 'Gol 1957', a name referencing the year the stadium originally opened.

The section is intended to bring together the club's most vocal fans and boost the atmosphere during matches.

Club officials say the reopening of different sections will continue gradually as construction progresses and new areas receive the required permits.

Gradual reopening after delays

Barça returned to the stadium on November 22, 2025, more than two years after construction began, playing their first match back with a limited capacity of around 45,000 spectators.

That return came later than originally planned, as delays in construction and the need to obtain the necessary occupancy licences repeatedly pushed the date back.

As a result, the team spent more than two seasons playing home games at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium while work on the stadium progressed.

Although the reopening is progressing step by step, the full transformation of the stadium, including major structural elements such as the roof, is expected to continue until around 2027.

Membership priority for new seats

With the new capacity expansion, the club has opened a registration and purchase process for members interested in obtaining match passes for the North Goal area.

Season-ticket holders who had previously applied for a 2025–26 pass but were not selected in a draw last October have been given 24 hours of priority access to buy the new passes

Prices range from €140 to €231 depending on the location and the number of matches remaining this season at the time of purchase.
