Catalonia–Palestine football match confirmed for Barcelona's Olympic Stadium
Organizers celebrate venue approval for November 18 friendly

The friendly match between Catalonia and Palestine will take place at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in Barcelona on November 18, the ACT x PALESTINE campaign confirmed on Tuesday.
Organizers had warned on Sunday that the fixture was at risk, saying the city council had not yet opened ticket sales and had failed to promote the event.
They then received over 18,000 pre-reservations in 48 hours, demonstrating "the will of citizens for the game to be played in the Catalan capital."
ACT x PALESTINE welcomed the decision as a "victory for collective pressure," emphasizing that the event will carry the "spirit of resistance and solidarity" symbolized by the stadium, which was set to host the 1936 People's Olympiad, an anti-fascist protest event against the 1936 Summer Olympics being held in Berlin.
The campaign will hold a public launch event on Sunday, November 9, outside Casa Orsola in Barcelona, featuring speeches and concerts by figures including Lurdes Barba, Oleguer Presas, Toni Padilla, Josep Julien, Marc Sarrats, and Martí Sales.
All proceeds from the match and the wider campaign will go toward humanitarian aid and reconstruction in Gaza, justice and an end to impunity, and culture as a form of resistance, organizers said.
Match to be broadcast on Catalan TV
According to a the Catalan Football Federation (FCF), the match, organized in collaboration with the Catalan government, Barcelona City Council, and the Palestinian Football Association, will be "a gesture of sporting fraternity and social commitment," highlighting football's role as a tool for unity, solidarity, and international visibility.
Televisió de Catalunya will broadcast the match live on 3Cat starting at 6:30 pm, while details on ticket sales will be announced soon via fcf.cat and the federation's official channels, according to a statement issued on Tuesday.
