Basketball star Ricky Rubio to return to Joventut de Badalona, per reports
Legendary point guard returned to Catalan sports last year after 12 years in NBA

NBA legend Ricky Rubio is expected to return to professional basketball to play with the first club of his career, Joventut de Badalona.
Although the news has not been made official, it has been reported by journalist Xavi Ballesteros, who is well connected with the goings ons at the Badalona basketball club.
The 34-year-old point guard would make an exciting addition for Penya ahead of the new season, adding star power in the form of a player who competed for 12 years in the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Utah Jazz, Phoenix Sunsand Cleveland Cavaliers.
Rubio made his professional sports debut with Penya at the age of 14 years and 11 months in 2005. He helped the Badalona side win the Copa del Rei in 2008, as well as two continental titles.
The Catalan star played for FC Barcelona after leaving Joventut de Badalona in 2009. At the blaugrana, he solidified his status as one of Europe's top players, winning one donestic league title, two Copas del Rei, and one EuroLeague championship.
In 2019, while playing in the NBA, he was part of the Spain team that won the FIBA World Cup.
Rubio briefly returned to FC Barcelona last year, but now seems to have his sights set on a new challenge, returning to where his basketball dream began.
