Barcelona - Catalunya Grand Prix grew Catalan GDP by €175 million in 2024
Tickets sell out for the 2026 Formula 1 race one week before competition begins

The 2024 Formula 1 Barcelona - Catalunya Grand Prix increased the Catalan gross domestic product (GDP) by €175 million.
The Grand Prix also added €318 million to the GDP from production.
The Grand Prix in 2024 created 2,500 full-time jobs, according to the organizers of the event. Additionally, between 2022 and 2025, the facilities have been modernized, made safer for competitors, and more pleasant for spectators, at a cost of €65 million.
The Montmeló circuit will be in use again from June 12-14 for the 2026 Grand Prix. The president of Fira de Barcelona, Pau Relat, confirmed that tickets have sold out one week before the competition.
After this year, the race will return to Barcelona every two years, in 2028, 2030 and 2032, as confirmed in the contract signed at the end of 2025.
Relat also confirmed the return of the F1 Fan Village at Plaça Catalunya. The interactive event will be filled with games, activities and more for the audience. The event will "bring the competition closer" to the Catalan capital, said Relat.
The mayor of Montmeló, Pere Rodríguez, shared his hope to grow F1 in Catalonia and highlighted the success of the Circuit de Barcelona - Catalunya.
