Barça extends head coach Hansi Flick's contract until 2027
FC Barcelona's German trainer to continue leading team after treble in 2024/25 season

FC Barcelona and German head coach Hansi Flick agreed to renew the trainer's contract until June 30, 2027.
The Catalan team reported on the extension on Wednesday at 7:30pm, less than a week after Flick's team won Spain's La Liga title, ending the 2024/25 season with a treble. On Thursday, Barça won the Catalan derby against Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium in Cornellà-El Prat.
Flick signed the contract in the club offices with president Joan Laporta, vice president Rafa Yuste, and the club's sporting director, Anderson Luis de Souza 'Deco.'
"Hansi Flick is creating history at FC Barcelona and that, we are sure, will continue in the coming seasons," a statement from the team reads.

The German coach won Spain's Super Cup, the Spanish Copa del Rey, and La Liga in his first season as head coach, after taking over in May last year after Xavi Hernández's dismissal.
"He has made Barça fans happy for many reasons," the text continues, and lists the belief given to the team, the "epic comebacks," and the several trophies.
670,000 fans turned out to celebrate FC Barcelona's 28th league title in a parade through the streets of the Catalan capital last Friday.
"I'm happy that the journey continues, and I feel that we are not in the end, and we have a lot of potential in this team," Flick said in a recorded statement.
"We deserved all what we achieved this season and I'm really happy to work with this team," he added and continued explaining that he can feel "that the team have a spirit to grow and also to learn and this is for me the important thing."

The team stats show that during his tenure, he has won 43 out of the 54 games he has been in charge, a win rate of 73%. This is below former coach Luis Enrique's 83% victory rate.
Despite the triumphs in La Liga, and the other Spanish competitions, Flick's team lost in the UEFA Champions League semifinals against Inter de Milan. It was the first time in years that Barça played in a semi-final.
Hansi Flick was sacked as Germany's national team coach in September 2023. Previously, he was the head coach of Bayern Munich for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons.
In 2024, he signed a contract for two years.
