Incidents continue Tuesday on the Rodalies commuter rail network after heavy rain Monday caused disruptions. Replacement bus services are to be provided while the lines are gradually brought back into operation throughout the day.

On the R1, service is currently operating between L'Hospitalet and Arenys de Mar, with a bus connection provided from Arenys de Mar to Maçanet-Massanes.

On the R2, trains are running between Granollers and the Airport and between Granollers and Castelldefels, while a bus service operates between Granollers Centre and Sant Celoni.

On the R4, the section between Terrassa and Manresa is covered by bus (regular bus lines are available in Terrassa and Sabadell, allowing connections to Barcelona via FGC).

Additionally, the R8 is operating via road along its entire route (from Martorell to Granollers), and R7 passengers are being redirected to e3 buses.

On the R11, a bus service is in place between Portbou and Maçanet-Massanes, and between Girona station and Sant Andreu. Finally, alternative road service is being provided on the R17 between Tarragona and Port Aventura, and on the RT2 between Tarragona and Salou.

Road delays and closures

Two roads in the Vallès region still have sections closed due to the effects of the rain, according to the Catalan Traffic Service (SCT). One is the C-1415a in Castellar del Vallès, where there is a risk of collapse, and the second affected is the C-352, where the Les Franqueses Tunnel is closed to traffic.

Additionally, alternating traffic flow is in effect on certain roads due to landslides, such as the N-150 in Terrassa, the C-59 in Bigues i Riells, and the GI-682 between Tossa de Mar and Sant Feliu de Guíxols.

The B-10 interchange in Sant Adrià de Besòs is closed in the direction of Trinitat due to flooding.

Barcelona Metro services are running normally.

School closures

The Jaume Tuset Adult Education Centre in Ripollet, the Vallès Adult Education Centre in Granollers, and the El Garbí Nursery School in Sant Adrià de Besòs will not open Tuesday due to rain damage.

Commuter Frustration

With Rodalies services partially back to normal services, commuters are still resigned by delays.

"It took about 10 minutes longer than the timetable says," Aleix Porta said, who traveled from Reus to Sants station.

Montserrat Ferrer had a similar experience taking the R1 line from Sant Andreu de Llavaneres to Mataró, "It wasn't on time," she said. "I checked the app, and it arrived about half an hour late. I didn't know if they were coming at all, but the rest of the trip went fine."

Ferrer managed to get a seat on the train, but noted that from Mataró onwards, "no one could find a seat" on the R1.

Early Tuesday morning, Rodalies commuters at Granollers Centre station also showed resignation regarding the suspension of part of the rail service. Alternative road transport was arranged from the station to destinations such as Sant Celoni, Martorell, and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), yet some commuters have chosen to return home, fearing that afternoon rain might further complicate their journey back.

The Meteorological Service of Catalonia (Meteocat) is forecasting heavy rain Tuesday throughout the day and evening.
