Trains on R11 line resume after five days closed
Barcelona's Ronda Litoral to be closed on weeknights for waterproofing

After heavy rain cause disruption for five days, trains on the R11 line resumed service Friday.
Early in the morning, the display screens at Girona station once again showed departures for Barcelona and Portbou, although some trains were running up to half an hour late.
Buses were still departing from outside the station; according to staff, these were there to cover cancelled trains or to provide backup service throughout the day if needed.
On Friday, some travelers at Girona station called it a "surprise" to be able to make the trip by train again. But they also lamented the "uncertainty" and anxiety they face every day, since they don't know whether they will be able to make the trip until they reach the station.
Ronda Litoral to be closed on weeknights
Meanwhile, the Ronda Litoral, Barcelona's coastal ring road, will close in both directions on weeknights for two months between exits 21 and 22, near the Moll de la Fusta.
The closures will run Monday through Thursday from 11 pm to 5:30 am and begin Tuesday, October 13, when Barcelona City Council starts work to fix waterproofing and pavement problems.
The €740,000 project involves injecting cement beneath the road's foundation slab, which is suffering from water infiltration and pavement deterioration. Traffic will return to normal each morning once the night work is done.
