Barcelona will welcome 10,000 professionals, students and institutional leaders as part of the World Congress of Architects 2026.

From June 28 until July 2, people from 130 countries will take part in talks, debates, presentations, workshops, and more at the international gathering.

The motto of this year's conference is "Becoming. Architectures for a platelet in transition." The five days of events will address topics of climate change, housing crisis, circularity and sustainability of materials, and evolution of public space.

The curators of the Conference, Pau Bajet, Mariona Benedito, Marina Giramé, Tomeu Ramis, Pau Sarquella and Carmen Torres have shaped the central program of the Congress for this year.

Barcelona will be activated as a "genuine laboratory of collective experimentation that will focus on the capacity to research solutions, the responsibility to implement them, and the collective effort inherent to a profession committed to the evolution and transformation of the planet," the curators explained at a presentation press conferece.
