'The mediations are ridiculous': Barcelona lifeguards protest again on the 14th day of strike
Workers criticize council and company sending "employees without technical capacity" to negotiate

Barcelona lifeguards have once again gathered at Bogatell Beach on Thursday, during the 14th day of their indefinite strike.
Lifeguard Nahuel Cabrera lamented the "ridiculous" latest round of mediation talks with the city council and the managing company FCC on Wednesday.
They are sending employees "who have neither technical nor operational capacity to solve our problems," the striking worker criticized.
Cabrera stressed that the other side are not sending “capable people” to the meetings. “We have our proposals and we present them, but they turn a deaf ear.”

There is currently no date set for the next mediation meeting, but Cabrera regretted that these meetings only take place once a week.
“It is illogical, but we are a very united team and we will resist,” the lifeguard said.
The lifeguard explained that they have asked for an extension of the beach surveillance season, as was done last year during the America's Cup.
Cabrera pointed out that the staff "is very supportive" and that these days they are organizing to cover the minimum services without "anybody getting hurt."
However, he regretted that there are many colleagues who are taking leave because they are having to "work twice as hard." "This is neither humane nor respectable," he said.
