Six people accused of illegally bringing dogs to Catalonia, after finding 56 puppies
Mossos d'Esquadra police in Girona stopped van with 33 animals, and 23 more in Santpedor dog center

The Catalan Mossos d'Esquadra police have accused six people with links to the discovery of 56 dog puppies allegedly entered illegally into Catalonia.
On June 28, the environmental unit in Girona found a car from Eastern Europe with 33 puppies, without documentation or health guarantees. Those accused would have brought the dogs with them clandestinely.

Police followed the van that stopped in a dog center in Santpedor, in central Catalonia, near Manresa.
Law enforcement agents identified the five passengers in the van and the head of the dog center. The six of them are now accused, and the puppies were taken to a shelter in Gironella, north of Manresa.
