This Tuesday has seen Rodalies service between Sant Sadurní d'Anoia and Martorell restored, after it was cut off for more than two months following the fatal accident in Gelida on January 20.

With the return of service, trains now connect Sant Vicenç de Calders and Terrassa Estació del Nord, with a shuttle train and complementary road service offered from here to Manresa.

Tuesday also saw the complete train route between Maçanet-Massanes and Hospitalet de Llobregat restored, without the need to transfer in Blanes.

On January 20, a fatal derailment in Catalonia, just two days after the high-speed rail disaster in Andalusia, led to unprecedented levels of disruption, with the entire Rodalies network suspended several times due to safety concerns.

Also from this Tuesday, Barcelona metro lines 1 and 5 are increasing frequency during rush hour.

With one more train added on each line, wait times are decreased between 7-9.30am.

Thus, the red line is running every 3 minutes, while the blue line runs every 2 minutes and 24 seconds.

TMB defends that the measure allows it to absorb the increase in passengers caused by the Rodalies crisis.
