Seasonal worker dies in western Catalonia during peak of heatwave
Police say autopsy will have to determine cause of death

A seasonal worker died on Monday afternoon while picking fruit on a farm in Alcarràs, in western Catalonia.
Catalan Mossos d'Esquadra police were alerted at around 4.45 pm, coinciding with the peak of the heat wave with temperatures close to 41°C.
From early indications, it seems that the man became dizzy and began to feel unwell.
Medical emergency response personnel went to a farm near the Vallmanya road, but when they arrived the man had no vital signs and they were unable to resuscitate him.
According to the police, they are now awaiting the results of the autopsy to clarify the causes of death and determine whether it was a work accident.
